When I met Deidre Zahl of Candy Shop Vintage last fall when having a trunk show at the Novel Showroom in Charleston, I loved her style and learning about her business. I also cracked up because it was a little chilly for the South that weekend, and she was in a fur coat, while the Michiganders had driven through a blizzard to get to the balmy south for this show.
Deidre approached me about our Emerald Birch Lattice wallpaper in hopes of using it for her powder room and I hadn't ever thought of pairing it with shiny black bead board as she suggested. I couldn't wait to see her vision come to life with one of my favorite prints.
I loved how she was bringing in hints of orange, with an Equestrian spin. I was only too pleased when she shared with me the final product, which we also got featured on Apartment Therapy last month.
What a difference a creative makeover can make in a small space.
While I am sad not to be heading back to Charleston for the Low Country Block Party this year, I am going to be returning to Charleston for The Southern C Summit in the spring, and Deidre has offered to host us in her darling shop during that visit. Charleston, I'll be dreaming about you until then.
