Create: Plaster Mesh Animals
A favorite of mine from my teaching days! You'll need to be careful with your plaster mesh, keeping it distant from the water on your workstation. And keep all that creative recycling! #makewithlelandgal
- Plaster Mesh Animals
- Materials
- Recycled Bottles, cans, milk jugs
- Armature Wire
- Wire Cutters
- Tape
- Plaster mesh (can use papier mache if you don’t have! Cut this into squares ahead of time, not near water!)
- Water for dipping mesh
STEP 1
Sketch out what kind of animal you want based on what shapes you have in terms of recycled materials.
STEP 2
Cut wire and extra pieces of recycled materials and tape onto base to create shape. I refer to this as “skeleton”.
STEP 3
Tape over large areas that will need a surface area for mesh to adhere.
STEP 4
Dip mesh squares into water and smooth onto base. ONLY one layer needed. Let Dry.
STEP 5
Paint however you like!
